We use FormFast - no chips and no additional server. All the overlays
for our forms are on the Meditech server. As for checks the
overlays/signatures are on a CD so only one person has access to print
checks. We installed FormFast 5 years ago and had very little problems.
Most of the time we have worn out the printers - replaced 2 in the last
5 years.

Steve,

There are a couple of choices depending on the investment you
want
to make. There are ELF chips that have the check images burned on them
and
then you install them into a laser printer. Each image has an associated
macro number that you use to call the right form out of AP. The only
problem
is every time you need to make a change you have to buy a new chip.
Another
company is Access E-Forms. This is a server based product that allows
you to
not only make checks but also any other form your facility would use.
This
would be a direct replacement for Standard Register. Please keep in mind
that with any product you choose, you either have to by checks with the
preprinted MICR line on them or use magnetic toner when ever you print a
check. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Phil

Meditech L:

Are there any Meditech hospitals who use someone other than Standard
Register to set up hardware and software to print Accounts Payable
checks.
The set ups would include check signature images, and micr codes for
bank
processing.

Thanks for any quick responses.
