We do not have a rule because the patient could come into er coding already and we can't require that before we give care. I have a query on the admission assessment that asks if they have filled out the allergies screen and they type in their names. I realize the system will capture the user's name but it makes them stop and think when they have to put their name to it themselves. The meditech-l web site is MTUsers.com ====================================== We had the problem before where nurses will leave the Allergy fields blank. It's been incorporated in our Admission Assessment and we just made it required. We didn't really have many problems since unless it's registry personnel who did the Admission Assessment and they do it on paper. We do have a warning message in OE if the Allergy fields are not answered in the Admin Data. Cristina G. Castillo, BSN, RN Manager, Clinical Informatics Pacific Alliance Medical Center 531 W.
