I haven't had the training for e-MAR or POM, but I'm not sure if there would be any value in an audit. From what I heard at MUSE international last year, the biggest thing is how you have drugs built in the drug dictionary, how the names appear on the e-MAR and in POM, plus you have to change things like eye drops so that the strength is so many drops/ml because the nurse needs to see the drops when recording the dose. If you don't have the staff in-house to go over the drug dictionary and make the necessary changes, then I would try to have a consultant come to do this when you are ready to make the leap. Of course there is no reason why that couldn't be done now, but I look as an audit of just telling you what changes to be made, and you can pretty much figure that out on your own if you have time or have a consultant come in and help you make the changes.
