In my distributed setup how do I stop servers from being marked offline
periodically?
The reason servers are marked offline is when there are network connectivity
issues between the different servers involved in the cluster. Assuming you have
diagnosed that there aren't any network connectivity issues between the
different servers the next possible problem to investigate is the digest
password. In the config.properties file (normally located at
/opt/matterhorn/felix/conf/config.properties) there are the two properties:
org.opencastproject.security.digest.user and
org.opencastproject.security.digest.pass
That allow the servers to communicate with one another. If the servers cannot
communicate with one of the other servers through this username and password
pair they are marked offline in the database causing the other servers to stop
using their services. So make certain that all of the servers are using the
same username and password.
