-If you're using a ppp connection you may have to set the MTU to
1500 - otherwise some sites will be mysteriously unreachable from
behind the masq box (weather.com and dejanews, for example).
Yes, yes! This is a MUST for the HOWTO! My distribution (SuSE) has
ifconfig version 1.22 (from 1996) -- in the man pages it is said that
it can't handle IP fragmentation (maybe a newer ifconfig can do this).
SLIP connections default to an MTU of 296; my plip connection defaults
to MTU 1500: setting the SLIP MTU to 1500 also makes everything work
as expected.
