I have pretty much got IP masquerading up and running successfully. I fixed
the last connectivity problem I was having by setting up the correct port
settings of my ip_masq_raudio module so I am pretty much happy.
I have however, noticed that the masquerading seems to take a while to start
working when I first set it up. I initialise the ipfwadm settings then dial
up my ppp connection. Then when I try and access the net from a machine
behind the firewall the first couple of times I try and load a web page or
connect to a real audio site time out before the flood gates open and it
suddenly starts working. After that it continues to work fine.
I was just wondering if this is normal behaviour or if masquerading should
work immediately after it is set up.
I'm running a 2.0.36 kernel on a Redhat 5.2 based system.
