I just recompiled my kernel, and obviously forgot to set something up correctly
my masq box has one ethernet card, and I run both the local and the external
network off the same card (yes, bad for several reasons, but it used to work)
now, when I do
# ifconfig eth0:0 192.168.1.1 broadcast 192.168.1.255
I get
SIOCSIFADDR: Operation not supported by device

OBVIOUSLY, I've setup something wrong when I compiled my kernel. Here's the
