okay! right on! I must have forgotten that one when I installed all the 
patches and fixes. I had to force installation to get it to go, am presently 
rebooting to see if it will work as trying depmod -a immediately after 
installation netted me the same error.

Now on bootup the same error comes up when the system says finding 
module dependencies, so obviously something else is also wrong, any 
idea what?
