---Reply to mail from jac--no-spam about [masq] [masq] Masquerade and pppd Demand
Dialing---

Hello Jack,

The way I am set-up for demand-dialing is to use the /etc/ppp/peers/
directory. In this directory I have placed a pppd options file with the name
of my ISP. This file is used, in place of a normal /etc/ppp/options file,
when I start pppd at boot as a daemon. Basically, the link is set-up,
serial port locked, and all that stuff, and then asked to wait for ip traffic
before dialing to complete the connection. I don't think your setup will
work with mine. But, I am still interested in how this alternative to
placing the nameserver addresses in /etc/resolv.conf, works. So If it's not
too much trouble, please do send me the ppp-on and ppp-off scripts. (Who
knows, maybe I will find a way to make it work.) ;-)

Thanks a lot for the time you've taken to help with this problem.

Have a great day,
Paul
