Hi, If have ip_masq set up on a Slakware 2.0.33 kernel reaching out to the world via a cable modem. For some reason I cannot connect to any News servers. I can do everything else, browse, FTP, Real Audio, ping, mail (I'm sending this) all with no problems. But when I try and connect to my ISPs NNTP server, I get bounced with a 'Connection refused' message. I have access to a second News server that requires an authenticated log-in and that one times out on me. I re-booted back to my Windoze NitwiT setup running Wingate and I can still get to both servers, so there isn't a problem at their end. At present my setup is: ipfwadm -F -p deny ipfwadm -F -a m -S 192.168.0.0/24 -D 0.0.0.0/0 I'm also running a caching-only DNS setup on the server. So, how do I go about tracking this down. What kind of things should I be looking at. Can I check that the right data is going down through the cable modem. What other information do I need to supply. All help gratefully accepted.
