Hi, I cannot find the answer to my problem in the howtos or this list's archives. Masquerading works great for my ppp connection to my ISP. This is my network configuration. 192.168.1.2-- 192.168.1.3-- 192.168.1.4-- --eth0-->192.168.1.1--ppp0--->ISP 192.168.1.6-- When the ppp connection goes away I CANNOT telnet, ftp, etc (but I CAN ping)between machines on my local network. As long as the ppp connection exists, I have no problem accessing the internet or local network machines from any of my machines. Routing table (with ppp connection): 206.133.232.3 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 UH 0 0 0 ppp0 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 26 eth0 127.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 U 0 0 8 lo 0.0.0.0 206.133.232.3 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 29 ppp0 Routing table (without ppp connection): 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 22 eth0 127.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 U 0 0 2 lo The following ipfwadm commands are loaded at boot: ipfwadm -F -p deny ipfwadm -F -a m -S 192.168.1.0/24 -D 0.0.0.0/0 My local network worked fine prior to compiling the ip masq kernel (Slackware 2.0.29). Any help would be appreciated.
