Well, first thing to do is get Clue. :) (they still sell that, don't

ok, Squid is a nice proxy, you now have to decide what you're going to do
with it, and how you'll use it. The depends entirely on your local setup,
and could be done with either 2 nics, or just as easily with 1. You need to
have (and maintain) a map of how your network is set up, so that you can
decide where things like that should go. If you're just trying to set up
Squid, I'm sure there are newsgroups specifically for that (not that I'm
trying to get rid of you, just trying to send you to the people who can help
you the best).
