Since I am giving up the idea of playing internet
games through ip masquarading, can anyone tell me a
safe way to disable ip masq on my linux box? Do I only
need to remove the ipmasq commands (ipchains &
ipfwadm) from my rc.local file? I am using Redhat 6.0
btw.
I am thinking of getting an extra ip from my cable
modem provider to enable me & my roomate to play
through internet. But I like to keep the linux box for
a firewall, after seeing how easy it is to scan and
open other windows machines that are connected
directly to the cable modem. *shudder*
So what kind of changes are necessary to be made to
the linux box? Can anyone tell me how to set up a good
firewall without using ip masquarading, or point me to
the right place for this information?
