/* HINT: Search archives @ http://www.indyramp.com/masq/ before posting! */ Hello everybody, i have Red Hat Linux 6.1 running on a 166MHZ Pentium and trying to setup IP masquerading for a COX@Home cable modem. It assigns an IP address dynamically using DHCP, but it is always the same IP address (like static). I set it up so that the cable modem comes in one Netgear FA- 310TX (tulip driver) ethernet card (eth0) and it goes out to the small network out of another identical card (eth1). I used the weak-ruleset rc.firewall script given in the IP Masquerade HOWTO and set up my cards and network like the cable connection was static, using the IP address that it always gets. i setup the rc.local file too, however i cannot get IP Masquerading working. What setup can i use? am i right using my cable modem like it is a static IP address? Also, on the actual linux box, how do i know which card is eth0 and which is eth1?
