There is a problem with the makefile in 0.55 for 2.2 release. The following
lines must be editted
Line 15: $(shell egrep '^(VERSION|PATCHLEVEL|SUBLEVEL|EXTRAVERSION|ARCH)
'$(KSRC)/Makefile >Makefile.arch)
Line 17: $(shell egrep -v '^ |^[^ :]*:'
$(KSRC)/arch/$(ARCH)/Makefile >Makefile.arch)
Changed then to these
Line 15: $temp = $(shell egrep
'^(VERSION|PATCHLEVEL|SUBLEVEL|EXTRAVERSION|ARCH)
'$(KSRC)/Makefile >Makefile.arch)
Line 17: $temp = $(shell egrep -v '^ |^[^ :]*:'
$(KSRC)/arch/$(ARCH)/Makefile >Makefile.arch)
I have sent this fix to the author but no response so he might be busy...
