I've seen this problem posted several times, but since I have no test
environment similar to this, I can't try different things.
The best idea I can think of (short of actually finding the nature of
the MTU problem and fixing it) is to reduce the MTU of all your internal
network interfaces, to match the PPPoE MTU size.
In other words, reduce the MTU on all your ethernet interfaces to 1492,
and all the interfaces on your Windows/etc clients as well.
I'd be interested to know how well this works, so that the work-around
could be archived for people to search for.
