Hi, everyone:

I am setting two of my home PC's to form a home network, and trying

IP-Masqrading to let them share the Internet access.

My problem is that, Machine A (equipped with a modem) can dial out

and go to the outside world, it can also ping Machine B (no modem

installed). However, machine B can only ping machine A, but never

go to the outside world.

I try tcpdump to check the traffic on machine A, which serves as

gateway of the home network, it shows as follows:

20:04:56.528522 486SLC.li.com > www2.yahoo.com: icmp: echo request

20:04:56.528522 486SLC.li.com > www2.yahoo.com: icmp: echo request

20:04:56.528522 486SLC.li.com > www2.yahoo.com: icmp: echo request

20:04:56.528522 486SLC.li.com > www2.yahoo.com: icmp: echo request

20:04:56.528522 486SLC.li.com > www2.yahoo.com: icmp: echo request

20:04:56.528522 486SLC.li.com > www2.yahoo.com: icmp: echo request

 .

 .

 .

In the above record, 486SCL.li.com is machine B (without modem).

I checked my kernel setting, it says IP-ICMP-Masqrading is "Y",

and IP-ICMP-Masqrading can only be "Y" or "N", not "M".

I also checked /lib/modules/2.0.34-0.6/net/ and found that there is

no file that looks like ICMP.o, and the only file starting with "i"

is ibmtr.o.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks a lot!
