I feel like it’s inevitable that Greenland will become some sort of extension of the United States — a territory if not a state. The country managed to fly under the radar for the entirety of the 20th century, but the world has caught up to it. Europe is not in a position to protect it, the United States is. This is not a Trump thing; whatever president follows him will stay this course.
