Indeed Charlie’s critique of John is legitimate yet whichever path leads to the
conclusion that we need an independent workers movement that builds the workers
party to use class struggle methods to fight for socialism is welcome.  Indeed
almost every significant and insignificant socialist left is echoing some
formulation similar to that.  So how to mobilize all these disparate vanguards
into a united front for a labor party which mobilizes the workers to step past
the union leaders who tie them to the Democrats.  Such could start with
resolutions in the unions for labor defense of undocumented workers and
everyone under attack by the Trump regime.  Such is necessary for the class to
build a fighting attitude that leads deeper towards forming a party.  Of course
this is a short window as the 2026 midterms will attract those who promote
campaigning for the Democrats away from the project .  Which way John will go
is of little concern the question is whether vanguard workers can be convinced
to take the fight for independence into the unions now.

But most of the time I hear this "move on" talk, it reminds me of how groups

tactic or a formulation or a line . . . Which I've always thought helpful, if
not essential to the health of the movement.

can we also move on?
So why do you keep bringing it up?
