Transgender women in sports has become a major issue in high school sports, largely because of the potential for transgender women to increasingly dominate, the longer this is allowed. This is already demoralizing women who want to keep women's sports to be an area in which only women participate. In the long run, this will kill women's sports. This is similar to the bathroom debate. If transgender women enter the women's bathroom, women feel less safe. Women's rights is really only meaningful is they protect the interests of women. Trans women are not women. The Conversation website has this information: "The National Organization for Women and other pro-integration activists argued ( https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/21565503.2016.1268178 ) that coed teams would ultimately help secure women’s equal status and visibility as athletes. At the same time, they worried immediate sex integration might disadvantage women, given the previous lack of training, coaching and athletic competition for girls and women. So, starting in 1979, policymakers required schools ( https://www2.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ocr/docs/t9interp.html ) to expand access by creating new teams specifically for women and girls."
