Just as tulips were viewed in the Netherlands - as "great value" It is a matter of supply and demand
Bitcoins are as the U. S. dollar - viewed by some as "value" Others view gold - as "great value" Obviously, LeBron James is "real value" - if you are a basketball fan I prefer ice cream - as value to me - but it is hard to keep, if no power for the freezer? How does one access their bitcoins - if no power for computers? It might not then - be viewed as "value"? But I think ice cream always will - even when not available. Something about food, seems to have more appeal - and thus expect that value will increase - especially with less food available Supply And Demand ________________________________ From: marxmail@groups.io <marxmail@groups.io> on behalf of Louis Proyect <l...@panix.com> . The article begins with a story about how a rare LeBron James trading card (it’s all sports cards, not just baseball cards) would now sell for over $3 million, more than ten times its price in 2016. It then reports on how the prices for rare cards of other famous players have also gone through the roof, with even cards of less great players selling for several million dollars. The reason this got me thinking about Bitcoin is that the price of Bitcoin has also been soaring. In fact, it has risen considerably faster than the price of baseball cards, increasing more than a hundredfold over the last five years. https://www.counterpunch.org/2021/02/26/bitcoin-and-baseball-cards/<https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.counterpunch.org%2F2021%2F02%2F26%2Fbitcoin-and-baseball-cards%2F&data=04%7C01%7C%7C7643a07543084f0ab61c08d8da62ed3a%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637499465708921764%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=vcXQnyzxlQy1dYrmEtuOubD6rCTQPP9quYr9nadTbYQ%3D&reserved=0>. _._,_._,_ -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
