I urge you to read about accelerationist communism. There are plenty of articles on the web about this. It's something I really want to believe in,but I know is unrealistic.Call me naive, but I still have not shaken my ultra-leftist tendencies, that support this.I still hope the right group of circumstances will get bad enough to push Americans into uniting into a revolutionary movement.
As members of a revolutionary socialist party,we must reject reformism, and build these movements. I am deeply perplexed, and troubled by the large numbers of self professed communists, and anarchists, who say they will vote for Mr. "Nothing will fundamentally change."They seem to ignore both Biden's record as senator. His voting against busing, his support of the school to prison pipeline, palling around with the likes of Strom Thurmond, the treatment of Anita Hill, and his Iraq war vote. Then there is Obama. We have Mr. Nobel lareate's not only tacit approval of the Bush crime cabal's war crimes, but escalating Bush's wars to seven countries.Bailing out Wall Street, and the big banks. The Defense Authorization Act,that allowed what was done in Portland, and other cities to take place.Obama started the practice of putting kids and families in cages,in subhuman conditions, not to mention his deporting more people than Trump. Then we have the treatment of the water protectors at Standing Rock, the treatment of Occupy Wall Street encampments. And yes, there's more. You could expect something even more reactionary, from a Biden/Harris administration. This is what liberalism has always done.FDR gave us Japanese internment camps, confiscated, and sold off property owned by Japanese-Americans.FDR was pushed into enacting the New Deal programs because of the mass movements organized by labor unions, communist and socialist parties. The country was literally on the verge of either another civil war,or a Bolshevik style revolution. We all saw the photos of pussy hat clad protestors, with signs saying if Hilary was elelected,we'd all be at brunch. This is a mindset we on the left have to struggle with, and battle, all the time.In a way,we need ultra recationary fascists, like Trump,to further radicalize people. There is a sizeable chunk of the so called "left",who will not lift a finger to protest the most fascist, imperialist, war mongering actions,if they are done by Democrats. This is the result of at least 44 years of "lesser evil" voting, going back to Jimmy Carter,As for voting,I would say if you have to vote, vote for either Gloria La Riva,or Howie Hawkins.Hell, write in Corn Pop if you are able to.If you don't want to do that, join a boycott the elections movement, and tell people why you are boycotting.Lenin did say we should participate in bourgeois elections. He was not so specific about participating in bourgeois parties. The demonstrators in the street that came out after George Floyd was murdered got some GIVE from the powers that be --- with Trump in for four more years, with the judiciary re-made, with Barr still as A.G. and the Senate able to block anything the House does, he will start shooting down people in the street --- The firebombing of the earth will certainly "accelerate" maybe to the point of no return when the methane leaks from the earth will kill all our grandkids ... And with what power will the rising consciousness of the "masses" who will be "accelerated" (??) to fight Trump confront the militias and militarized police ? At least if Trump loses and TRUMPISM is actually put on trial (will the ruling class let him "get away" with his corruption --- open question of course!) will the people suddenly disappear from the streets ---? I don't think so .... Remember, one of the principles of revolutionary opposition is that when things START to improve is when there is a real upsurge .... The big strikes that created the modern labor movement occurred TWO YEARS after FDR took over from Hoover and STARTED some of the New Deal programs --- The movement for Civil Rights in the SOuth accelerated (that word again!) \in the 1960s ---AFTER a significant improvement in black incomes even in the South --- I think the hope after the NADIR of life under Trump will actually be a significant "accelerant" to the movement --- even on OUR side --- pushing a Biden Administration (with a bunch of folks on our side IN Congress --- ) in the right direction. So I don't think WE gain anything by a Trump re=election and LOTS OF PEOPLE will literally die as a result of it .... Hope brother Roger was being facetious ...in which case I apologize for responding as if it were a serious point ....,_._,_ -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
