Dear colleagues,
Join us for the V International Symposium on Orcas from February 16th to 21st,
2025 in Tarifa, Strait of Gibraltar, Cádiz, Andalucía, Spain.
The Symposium will bring together scientists and students from around the world
for discussions on key aspects of orca biology, ecology and conservation. The
programme will include Workshops on specific topics as well as plenary sessions
that will incorporate keynote speakers and oral presentations (10-15 minutes)
from researchers. In addition, there will be open poster sessions providing an
opportunity for interaction and discussion amongst scientists. An outline
programme is provided on the website that will be finalised after Abstract
review.
Whilst the primary intention is to provide a vehicle for scientists to share
results, technical information and share ideas, there will be at least one
evening session open to the public and press where a few leading researchers
will provide non-technical presentations on the present state of knowledge on
orca and the challenges facing them, with the opportunity for questions and
discussion.
The deadline for Abstract submission is coming up fast - November 25, 2024;
authors may submit more than one abstract and will be notified by 3 December
2024.
General conference registration is 45 EUR and you can find more detailed
information on the symposium website. There will be a possibility to attend
virtually, and the details are being finalised.
