The Vertebrate Integrative Physiology (VIP) lab at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is seeking an outstanding candidate for a research-based master’s degree, beginning Fall 2024. The successful applicant will develop and implement a project studying northern elephant seals at the Piedras Blancas breeding site in San Simeon, CA. Some financial support will be provided by the Dr. Kathleen A. Curtis Elephant Seal Research Graduate Fellowship. This project involves hands-on fieldwork with northern elephant seals, as part of a research team.
The successful applicant will be a self-motivated, independent scholar who can also work well in a team environment. Prior field experience is preferred but not required.
