The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is searching for an individual with an interest in marine mammal research and conservation who aspires to solve scientific problems and address conservation issues as part of an innovative and skilled research team. This position provides biometric assistance to mid- and upper-level wildlife biologists (Wildlife Biologists II, III, and IV) to support statewide Marine Mammal Program projects and to consult on management level issues. This position offers a rare opportunity to provide biometric support to a diverse array of marine mammal projects on species such as ice seals (ringed, bearded, spotted and ribbon), polar bears, Steller sea lions, walruses, sea otters, and bowhead and beluga whales in remote areas of Alaska. The successful applicant can also participate in wildlife field work.
