I guess we do need to give a nod at OpenOffice and the work doe in the previous decade but by the same token it's worth mentioning Star Office as being the original name. It hints at why command-line stuff and packages are named things like soffice.exe, swriter and so on. Also that way people see the new name "LibreOffice" as being just the latest in a series of name changes. It connects us and gives more gravitas to the idea the we are firmly rooted & very stable. Many products have far more than 3 name-changes in a decade so it's not that unusual.
