XtraDB is pretty the same as InnoDB > 3. Does MariaDB recognize the mysqli function or only the mysql function? that has *nothing* nothing to do with MariaDB/MySQL these are *PHP* functions and mysql_* is highly deprectaed since a long time, but as said it has nothing to do with the question MariaDB/MySQL
