Hello everyone,
I would like to ask for a task I could do to start contributing to the MariaDB 10.
Right now I am looking for something relatively simple so that I can familiarize myself with the development process.
General databases knowledge: basic SQL, relational algebra and database design.
DBMS programming experience: external merge sort and sort-merge join algorithms written in Java.

These were the projects for a DBMS architecture course I took during my MSc.
Other programming experience: C (loadable kernel module for Linux), C++ (no significant experience),
Python (plagiarism detection, web crawler and some other information retrieval projects).
Knowledge of the MariaDB source: none.
Knowledge using MySQL/MariaDB: basic. I desinged and set up a MySQL database (32 tables) during my BSc project.
Available time: about 25 hours per week for at least 8 weeks.
My personal preferences about the task are as follows:
1) The task should require some coding in either C or C++.
2) There should be a mentor/supervisor for the task
Of course, any suggestions are welcomed.
