Hi Gang

Except of 'INBOX' there are no predefined IMAP folder names.

My observation and expectation was the IMAP client would create the
'default' folders and assigns them function and possibly icons. The
names are sometimes localized.

Lately we got told that newer versions of Mozilla Thunderbird are
complaining it could not find 'required' IMAP folder and therefore falls
back in creating local folders for, as example, 'sent mail' instead of
creating them on the IMAP Server.

I could re-produce that behavior. Newest Mozilla Thunderbird only
creates 'Trash' on the IMAP server. All other folder like 'Sent Mail'
etc. are created locally even if a folder with Name 'Sent' is already
present, created by another IMAP client, it looks like this is not the
name Thunderbird is looking for to assign the function of send mails to
a folder.

Is there a list of IMAP folder names which is known to work with most
common IMAP clients? I could not yet find such a list online.

Mit freundlichen Grüssen
