I find that beyond the :

- security risks
- privacy concerns
- inability to troubleshoot connection issues
- being exposed to MS outages
- inability to optimize routing for global customers

there is also the glaring fact that MS is a competitor in this space. What stops them 12 months from now from simply saying: Your provider doesn't support Modern Auth ( there is still no agreed-upon standard in fact ) - switch to MS365 for a better experience ?

The whole thing seems very anti-competitive to me.

This appears to be the plan.. all for the stated sake of 'security'.
Far too many things coming out of the big three that break standards, rather than support them.. or make it so you are forced to use their services.. and your conclusion would not surprise any of us that are on the list..

And yet, cumulatively, more threats are coming from, or exist on those networks than almost anywhere else in the US..

Sometimes, makes you even wonder if they intentionally allow spammers and hackers to operate, hoping everyone else will get frustrated enough to give up and drink the koolaid..

What ever happened to accountability?

And if the US ever wants to stem foreign threats, they will have to look at home first.. I mean these companies spin off enough cash, or are big enough to be responsible for threats on their networks..

Is there anyone on this list that isn't fed up with threats coming from:

* Google
* o365
* Amazon
* Twilio/SendGrid
* Digital Ocean

How many millions of hard earning citizens dollars have been lost to those threats? Not to mention all the money being spent to 'stem the tide'.. Maybe all those tin foil hat guys right and this is just a ploy by the government, to support those companies ambitions, as well as putting dollars into the security vendors pockets ;)

        It seems MS is pushing really hard for the 'NEW' Outlook
        adoption. This software, along with Outlook Mobile and myMail
        (mail.ru), etc, cache logon information on their own
        infrastructure and then basically proxy the connection to the
        service provider. This makes it impossible for service providers
        to do any kind of security checks, not to mention I'm sure it
        breaks all kinds of privacy regulations.

        Curious what everyone's thoughts on this practice is and how you
        deal with it.
