I switched our familiy setup to Google a few years ago (will now change back to
self-hosting, but that's another story).xi

When I created an account with Google Workspace, I automatically got a
dummy domain, like blabla.tld.test-google-a.com, but there was no need
to change my MX immediately. Under this domain I could create accounts
and test all the setings, aliases, forwadings, etc. Just when I was
satisfied with all the results, I would change my MX to Google.

Best regards,
Martin
