Is Google and other operators demoting senders without STARTTLS support a step in the direction of mandatory STARTTLS some day? It would be interesting if the community could coordinate some "Flag Day", as was done for IPv6 in 2011 (major websites enabled IPv6 for one day) and 2012 (enabled IPv6 permanently), and for DNS in 2019 (to enforce EDNS compatibility). Such coordinated approach 1/ creates visibility and 2/ avoids any single party to be the one to blame for being "too strict". It has been successful for the above mentioned examples.
