Yeah, but it doesn't usually trigger my filters as they are more exact than so. I trigger on certain color codes (HTML snippets), URLs and such that are unique to spam. Its actually fairly effective since I usually get a spamwave that last like 1-2 months with like 10-20 spams a day with a common factor (a specific url, domain or color code) - I blacklist the common factor, and then the spam is gone for quite a period before the spamwave begins again.
Currently my content blacklist has like 5-6 entry's. So just quoting a spam wont trigger it. It must be a verbatim copy, like attaching the spam to the email, that’s usually whats false triggers these filters. And no, I don't blacklist those that happen to often trigger the filters. Writing the HTML color code font tag in a email isn't enough for example, since the caret's that are copy+pasted in a email are encoded into < and > meaning they don't get catched in the spam filter. -----Ursprungligt meddelande----- Från: Bill Cole via mailop <mailop@mailop.org> Skickat: den 25 januari 2022 16:21 Till: Sebastian Nielsen via mailop <mailop@mailop.org> Ämne: Re: [mailop] [Admin note] re spam filters On 2022-01-25 at 06:53:20 UTC-0500 (Tue, 25 Jan 2022 12:53:20 +0100) Sebastian Nielsen via mailop <sebast...@sebbe.eu> is rumored to have said: > should never trigger anything on this mailing list unless someone > copies a spam email into the mailing list You do know that happens, right? Not so often here as on more spam-specific lists, but posts here quote enough spam that I'd be rejecting traffic from this list just for being from this list (i.e. as a chronic sender of janky content) if I didn't have strong safeguards in place. -- Bill Cole b...@scconsult.com or billc...@apache.org (AKA @grumpybozo and many *@billmail.scconsult.com addresses) Not Currently Available For Hire _______________________________________________ mailop mailing list mailop@mailop.org https://list.mailop.org/listinfo/mailop _______________________________________________ mailop mailing list mailop@mailop.org https://list.mailop.org/listinfo/mailop
