Only if you'd never read RFC 5321, particularly section 5.2.  Every v6
MTA of which I am aware will fall back to both AAAA and A if there is
no MX.  I had a long argument about this in the IETF making all the
points people here else did and I lost, on the basis that it's too
late to change SMTP now.
