Reminds me of a NANOG in Atlanta back in 2001 when late at night, quite in to my cups, I passed a hotel room that had water streaming out of it with a poor night manager pounding on the door. I recall back at LISA '96 in Chicago they setup a terminal room so you could telnet into your mailserver and check mail, they had desks with Ethernet for the few that had laptops (WiFi wasn't a thing back then, mostly used for point to point.) Remember all the conferences where they would setup up tables in the main halls with 10baseT wires to hubs and we felt like special gods of the Internet?
