Yes, got it resolved. This had nothing to do with abuse from Mailchimp but horrible behavior on the part of Symantec's spam filtering service.
Long story short, we've whitelisted mcdlv.net with Symantec. Spammers sending from their own domains (with valid DKIM for the spammer) but forging message-IDs to end in mcdlv.net were getting through due to whitelist. Attempts to get Symantec to fix it were futile.
Needed Mailchimp's outbound CIDRs to modify whitelist for IPs rather than domain so wrote to ask them.
Was quite taken aback by the extreme reluctance to respond to email by a company in the email business. All done.
