John Cooper <mailmate@lists.freron.com>
is rumored to have said:
I use a 4K monitor that I prefer to run at native resolution, which
often means adjusting text-based interfaces to make them more
readable. For example, my browser remembers that two news sites I
visit display at 130% and 150%.
In MailMate, text and markdown messages display as I would wish, but
HTML messages (usually sent by corporations and mailing lists other
than this one) are mostly way too small. There's one list in
particular in which I have to press MailMate's "Zoom In" ten times to
reach a preferable size.
Indeed, HTML is a terrible fit for email, which gets rendered in so many
different tools that it always looks terrible for someone.
Two questions:
In MailMate, is there any way to specify the default magnification of
HTML formatted messages?
Not that I am aware of.
There IS a "Minimum Font Size" set in the Viewer pane of Settings.
Is there any way to zoom the contents of a message without zoom the
message window headers (i.e., MailMate-provided headers) too? They are
comically big after I zoom the message text.
No way that I am aware of.
I expect that making that work would require Benny to refactor the
message viewing part of MM yet again.
