I tried creating a bundle that specifically identified the 1px tracker images and updated Little Snitch to block them, but I never got it to the point where it did this automatically enough to avoid being a burden to me as a user.

If anyone's interested, I will find that code and make it available. Maybe someone else can finish it, or at least suggest an approach for me to take.

Is MailMate safe for Collecting Spy Sheets?

MailMate should block everything, but I'm naturally interested if that should fail in any way. If you allow fetching external resources (in general or for a specific email) then MailMate does not protect you in any way.

You might be interested in the following service which you can use to test both MailMate and other email clients: https://www.emailprivacytester.com

I just tried it and the test-email triggered 0 “vulnerabilities” in MailMate and it triggered 12 in Apple Mail.

In general, I don't guarantee anything since people come up with some really smart tricks -- and some times I introduce new bugs. Quite a lot of MailMate users seem to also be using Little Snitch and someone will usually write to me when the latter happens :)
