I also used to sort messages to different mailboxes in my older e-mail clients. With MailMate I found a better way, for me, of doing it. All mail lands in the "Inbox". When I have read it I archive it so it end up in "Archive". No mailboxes, just dump it all in "Archive". To find things I have set up smart mailboxes that completely replaces my old standard mailboxes. Smart mailboxes are essentially saved searches so a lot more flexible, a mail message can e.g. show up in several boxes.
