Frequent updates with no useful release notes drives me crazy, as do updates that make silly UI tweaks (changing the color or shape of icons, moving items from one menu to another, that sort of nonsense). 99% of my iOS updates say "bug fixes and stability improvements" or even "bug fixes and new features." Zero detail. I skip those until the app refuses to work.
