I saw the “Never inline PDF files” setting:

I unchecked it, but (even after restart of MailMate) PDFs are not inlined:

Why’s that?

In practice, PDFs are used in emails for 2 (inline) purposes:

1. Documents. These are always displayed as attachments in MailMate.

This explains it.

2. Images. In this case, the PDF format is used instead of a “real” image format like PNG. MailMate can more easily display these inline.

However I think that in the past _some_ PDF documents were inlined when I had the option unchecked. That is probably because these documents were only one page long and Mailmate took them as “images”.

What is the criterion for Mailmate to understand a PDF as “image”?
