internals
Maybe it’s best to test with the very latest ß to evaluate the
behaviour

I frequently use message selection in the message list as a "bookmark"
of sorts, showing the last place I was reading messages in any given
mailbox, and/or leaving an unread message selected as a reminder to go

I've updated to v1.14 (5964) and the above scenario is no longer
working. The message list does remember which message was selected
when switching back and forth between different lists. But if I
select/highlight an UNread message, that message gets marked as READ
when the message list is redrawn.
I can see both ways be valid and intentional, but I really liked the
previous behavior. Bennie, can you comment on the intent behind the
behavior change? And whether we'll get the previous behavior back in
a future release?
