I am getting intermittent crashes since I upgraded to version 5657. No
crashes in 5656 for me. There is no pattern to those crashes, though (by
printing, by sending, by switching). I am sending stacktrace to Benny as
well, in case it helps him to track this down.

This sounds strangely familiar; I'm pretty sure I had a very similar
crashing issue to this some months back, so this could be a
regression in the latest version.
I've had a couple of crashes too. The stacktrace was sent to Benny so
I hope he'll be able to make sense of it. If not, the best thing for
crashes is to open a ticket.
