I should clarify. The "smart" mailboxes I'm talking about don't have any special rules. Each is set up simply to show the contents of a particular IMAP folder, so that I can access all my mail intuitively using only the top part of the navigation tree. I do have more complex rules in some of my smarter folders, but because server-side rules take care of the most common and basic filtering, I don't make MailMate do this work. (Again, I've set it up this way because I don't have the luxury of MailMate in every place I access email.)
