From the comments in the implementation files, I would say that no
consideration has been given to private archives. I don't know how
MHonArc handles that, so if it's a concern I can only warn you to be
careful.

wow, thank you this is great. This would soely be for a public list, so that
wouldn't be a problem. We're still going to have hyperkitty as primary, but
Mhonarc does a better job with threading where in-reply-to is missing, which
was common before it found wide spread use (we have archives back to 1991).
I'm going to get at it tomorrow or Thursday and will follow up with anything
else needed to make it work, if I get it working.
