I tried calling it GNU/Linux and finally dropped GNU as the followers of GNU
movement
are irritatingly assertive about the freedom stuff.
The professor has not been able to solve his problem as most people who
contribute to this
thread are too much obsessed with nomenclature and licensing issues
A solution to the problem is
a. Create a VMWARE image or Sun Virtual Box image or XEN image with SPSS on
Debian,Redhat,Ubuntu
b. Run the image on Windows or Linux
@Sony
Offer some money to people who can do this and your problem might be
solved

P.S :- Reading "Kamasutra" for too long is counter productive. Now it is time
to act with
confidence !

I agree with you, Jos. Also by calling the Operating System "GNU", we are
giving the credit to the right people, who worked on the GNU project for a long
period, instead of giving the credit to some one (Kernel part) who did
comparatively very less. At-least, they will get equal mention by calling it
GNU/Linux, which is also right. I believe that as the members of a Free
Software Group (ILUG-Cochin), we are responsible to do so. Also that
distinguishes us from others.
