Hello all ,
Most probably , It is not going to affect Linux OS's base as well as it's
penetration. For corporate networks , people will use Windows 8 secure boot.
Most of the Linux users are either in the OEM space ( where Linux is going to
be the favoured OS ) or personally owned computers ( who would like to make his
system mono bootable ? )
Anyway , a campaign is good for sure !. ( We cannot say that Microsoft is wrong
here as well ). Focus on the issue.
regards
Praseed Pai

Free Software Foundation: Windows 8 secure boot requirement could lock out Linux
The Free Software Foundation has launched a campaign claiming that Windows
8-certified PCs might prevent users from booting into GNU/Linux. The mandatory
"secure boot" facility in the systems' Unified Extensible Firmware Interface
(UEFI) might better be called "restricted boot," the organization claims. The
FSF is concerned that Microsoft and hardware manufacturers will implement the
system in a way that will prevent users from booting anything other than
Windows.
