I don't know which software you are using. But it looks to me like you haven't 
enabled the Rock Ridge / Joliet Extensions to ISO 9660 filesystem, which 
supports filenames longer than 8.3 format.

Remember in DOS, under Windows, filenames were shown as PROGRA~1? Well, the 
same 
thing.

If you look closely, you may find a TRANS.TBL file in the root directory too

There's some quirk to overcome this in the mkisofs(8) man page. RTFM
