Hi Paresh,

Please install the application "File Roller" from "Synaptic". Hope you
know that synaptic is the tool used for installation of softwares in Debian.
File roller can handle many formats including zip and rar (You may have to
install "unrar" to get rar working). Hope this info helps. If any doubt, please
get back to us.

NB: I believe file roller is default application which is already present in
the GNOME desktop. If its KDE, then usually "Ark" is present which does the
same job as File Roller.

Warm Regards,
S.Sreekanth

Dear friends,

Is there a zipping option in Debian? I've to mail around 50 MB of pics with
slow Net connection.

I'm a technologically challenged person. So, if there is something wrong in my
query please let me know. I hv switched to free sw only because I believe in
the principle 'free as in freedom' & hate being called a pirate.

Thanks & regards,
Paresh
