Nagios is very easy once we understand how it works ..Its conceptually very
elegant (at least for me !) .

Also we get many nice frontends like nconf/lilac nowadays if you dont want
to add/remove hosts from command line

Also you may want to check on zenoss (no personal experience on it though).

Basically nagios has been here for very long...so it has its maturity
